Problem with your Ideal Isar? Of course you have, that's why you're Googling it. Read up on Ideal Isar issues and whether you should repair or replace it.
Why the Isar exists
During a past Government scheme designed to provide some of the UK's more vulnerable homes with free or subsidised new heating installations, Ideal was tasked with creating a boiler that met regulations but could be produced on mass, cheaply. This was duly achieved but at the expense of the boiler's longevity and reliability.
But does it make sense to keep repairing your Ideal Isar or are you better off replacing the boiler entirely?
Unfortunately, more often than not, the recommendation is to replace.

Why replace?
In most cases, we would recommend replacing boilers older than 10 years if a repair is going to cost you over £300 as it's more than likely, it won't just be a one-time fix.
It's also worth considering the efficiency of an old boiler and the potential savings you could recoup on your home energy bills with the installation of a new boiler.
