Vaillant Boiler Costs: How Much is a Vaillant Boiler in 2026?

Vaillant is one of Europe’s biggest names in heating, with a reputation built around German engineering, premium build quality and strong support from both homeowners and heating engineers.

If you can’t get German engineering in your garage, Vaillant at least gives you another way to benefit from it.

The ecoTEC and ecoFIT ranges are among Vaillant’s best-known gas boilers in the UK, with models available for a variety of property sizes and heating systems. Vaillant boilers also have a particularly good reputation among installers for their build quality and serviceability.

That’s good news for engineers, but potentially even better news for the people paying them.

Aside from gas boilers, Vaillant produces a broad range of heating products, including air source heat pumps, heating controls and hot water cylinders.

Vaillant remains a German-owned company, although many of its UK boilers are actually hand-built at its manufacturing site in Belper, Derbyshire.

Modern Vaillant gas boilers use condensing technology and qualifying models carry an ErP A rating for heating efficiency, helping them recover considerably more useful heat from the fuel they burn than the ancient boiler you may currently be threatening with a hammer.

History of Vaillant Boilers

Vaillant was founded in 1874 by Johann Vaillant in Remscheid, Germany, and the Vaillant Group remains family-owned today. Johann himself has, understandably, stepped back from day-to-day operations.

The company’s early breakthrough came in 1894, when Johann Vaillant patented a closed-system gas bath boiler that could heat water without combustion gases contaminating it.

Vaillant went on to introduce a series of important heating innovations.

In 1961, Vaillant introduced Germany’s first wall-hung gas-fired heating system, the Circo-Geyser.

Six years later, the Combi-Geyser VCW 20 combined central heating and hot water in one appliance, which Vaillant describes as the first combi boiler of its kind.

In 1995, Vaillant launched its first condensing appliance, the Thermoblock ecoTEC, bringing technology that now forms the basis of virtually every modern gas boiler sold in Britain.

More recently, Vaillant has invested heavily in lower-carbon heating, including its aroTHERM heat pump technology.

Although your Vaillant product may be greener by design, it will mercifully still usually arrive in white.

Vaillant Gas Boilers

Vaillant currently offers combi, system and open-vent/conventional gas boilers, covering everything from smaller homes with modest hot-water requirements to larger properties with cylinders and multiple bathrooms.

Vaillant Combi Boilers

Combination, or combi, boilers provide central heating and hot water from a single appliance without requiring a separate hot-water cylinder.

That makes them particularly attractive for smaller and medium-sized homes where space is valuable.

A combi heats mains water as you use it, so there is no cylinder of stored hot water waiting to run out halfway through somebody’s shower.

Essentially, it is the water-heating equivalent of streaming rather than buying the VHS.

Vaillant's current combi range includes:

  • Vaillant ecoFIT pure

  • Vaillant ecoTEC pro

  • Vaillant ecoTEC plus

The ecoFIT pure is the more compact option, with 25kW, 30kW and 35kW combi models, while the ecoTEC plus sits further up Vaillant's range with additional controls and premium features.

Price of a New Vaillant Boiler

Vaillant sits towards the premium end of the UK boiler market, so you will generally pay more than you would for a budget brand such as Alpha or Glow-worm.

For the boiler itself, current Vaillant combi models typically cost roughly £840 to £1,500+, depending on the model and output.

Heatable's current 2026 combi comparison, for example, puts:

  • ecoFIT pure at around £840–£1,150

  • ecoTEC pro at around £880–£1,850

  • ecoTEC plus at around £1,100–£1,500

Actual merchant pricing varies, so these should be treated as indicative rather than sacred text.

The considerably more useful figure is what the boiler costs installed.

As of 2026, Heatable lists Vaillant installations from around £2,445, with specific ecoFIT pure and ecoTEC plus packages generally sitting between roughly £2,445 and £2,895+, depending on boiler type, output and installation requirements.

Your final price can change depending on:

  • Boiler model and output

  • Combi, system or regular configuration

  • Whether the boiler is being moved

  • Flue requirements

  • Controls

  • Filters

  • Pipework alterations

  • Whether you are converting from another boiler type

  • Any remedial work needed on the heating system

Unless you’re Gas Safe registered or a direct descendant of Johann Vaillant with unusually specific hobbies, don’t try to install it yourself.

Heatable provides an online fixed price covering the boiler and professional Gas Safe installation. Current Vaillant installations can also be available as soon as the following day, subject to availability.

Vaillant Regular Boiler Prices

Regular boilers, also called heat-only, conventional or open-vent boilers, work with a separate hot-water cylinder and normally a cold-water storage tank.

They make most sense where an existing traditional heating system is already in place or where several hot-water outlets may need to operate simultaneously.

Unlike a combi, the hot water is stored in a cylinder rather than produced entirely on demand.

Vaillant's current open-vent range includes:

  • Vaillant ecoFIT pure

  • Vaillant ecoTEC plus Vaillant

Heatable's wider 2026 boiler pricing data places Vaillant conventional boilers at roughly £1,200–£2,200 before considering the particulars of installation. Fully fitted Heatable Vaillant packages currently start from around £2,445, with the precise figure depending heavily on the system.

Vaillant System Boiler Prices

System boilers sit somewhere between a combi and a traditional regular boiler.

They still use a separate hot-water cylinder, but many of the components required to operate the heating system are incorporated within the boiler itself.

This can make them an excellent choice for larger homes where several showers or taps may be used at once.

Vaillant's current system boiler range includes:

  • Vaillant ecoFIT pure

  • Vaillant ecoTEC plus

  • Vaillant ecoTEC exclusive Vaillant

Typical Vaillant system boiler prices currently sit around £1,200–£2,200 before installation according to Heatable's 2026 pricing data.

Vaillant Boiler Warranty

The warranty, or more accurately in Vaillant's terminology, guarantee, is one of the most important things to compare when buying a boiler.

There isn't one universal Vaillant guarantee length. The standard guarantee depends on the boiler, and eligible models can receive extended cover of up to 10 years when installed and registered under Vaillant's qualifying installer schemes.

For example:

  • ecoTEC pro: 2-year standard guarantee, upgradeable to as much as 10 years

  • ecoFIT pure: 2-year standard guarantee, upgradeable to as much as 10 years

  • ecoTEC plus: 5-year standard guarantee, upgradeable to as much as 10 years

That distinction matters.

Don't simply compare the giant "10 YEAR GUARANTEE" badge on one installer website with another boiler's standard manufacturer cover.

Check exactly which installer, registration requirements, protection kit, servicing conditions and boiler model are required to obtain the full term.

Selected Vaillant boilers sold through Heatable are currently advertised with 10-year parts-and-labour cover, so check the individual boiler shown in your quote rather than assuming every Vaillant installation carries identical protection.

Vaillant Customer Reviews

Vaillant continues to perform extremely well with UK customers.

As of September 2026, Vaillant UK has a Trustpilot rating of 4.6/5 from more than 23,000 reviews. Around 79% of reviews are five-star. Trustpilot

That is particularly strong for a company selling and servicing mechanical products which, sooner or later, tend to choose the coldest week of January to demand attention.

Customer reviews naturally cover more than boiler reliability alone, including servicing, engineers and Vaillant's customer support, so Trustpilot shouldn't be treated as a controlled product reliability study.

For reliability, engineer opinion is arguably more useful.

Vaillant Awards & Accolades

Accelodes Accolades. Unless Vaillant has quietly invented another heating technology.

Vaillant was named Which? Recommended Brand for gas boilers in September 2025, topping the table and receiving five stars for both reliability and engineer recommendations.

That is considerably more useful to a prospective buyer than leaning on a 2020 award.

Vaillant also has a long history with Which?. Previous generations of its ecoTEC range received Which? Best Buy recognition, including awards documented in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

There is also its relationship with Quiet Mark.

Vaillant's ecoTEC range became the first heating technology product range to receive Quiet Mark approval in 2014, and several current boilers continue to carry Quiet Mark certification.

That gives Vaillant a fairly compelling stack of third-party credentials:

  • Which? Recommended Brand for gas boilers, 2025

  • Five stars for reliability from Which?

  • Five stars for engineer recommendations from Which?

  • Quiet Mark certification on qualifying models

  • 4.6/5 Trustpilot rating from 23,000+ reviews

Vaillant Boilers Verdict

Vaillant remains one of the strongest premium boiler brands available in the UK.

Its range isn't the cheapest, but that's not really where Vaillant is trying to compete.

What you are paying for is:

  • Excellent build quality

  • A strong reputation among heating engineers

  • Good parts and servicing support

  • A broad range of combi, system and regular boilers

  • Up to 10 years of guarantee cover on eligible installations

  • Excellent independent reliability results

  • A long-established UK manufacturing presence

Vaillant was also Which?'s top Recommended Brand for gas boilers in its September 2025 assessment, scoring five stars for both reliability and engineer recommendations.

There are cheaper boilers.

There are boilers with longer headline warranties as standard.

But if your priorities are engineering quality, reliability, installer support and long-term serviceability, Vaillant remains exceptionally difficult to fault.

That's why Vaillant continues to sit near the very top of our ranking of the best boiler brands.

Our pick from the current range is the ecoTEC plus for buyers wanting the stronger all-round premium option, while the ecoFIT pure makes more sense where cupboard space or purchase price matters more.

The ecoFIT pure is compact enough for a kitchen cupboard and available as a combi, system or open-vent boiler, while the remastered ecoTEC plus adds Vaillant's newer control and smart-home functionality.
