As a relatively new boiler brand in the UK, Intergas produces models with decent price tags, a few moving parts (which is preferable for any functioning boiler), and a sixth-place ranking for the best boiler brands on Trustpilot.
But how do they compare to the other industry giants?
Intergas Heating is a Dutch company with twenty-four boiler models currently on offer. Aside from boilers, Intergas also offers a digital thermostat, a system filter, and a mobile heating app.
The brand, like most modern heating companies, manufactures combi, regular and system boilers with their most popular selections being the Combi Compact ECO RF Gas Boilers and Xclusive Combi Gas Boilers.
Intergas boilers come with some great warranties, mostly ranging from seven to ten years in total. Their appliances are also not too expensive relatively speaking.

History of Intergas Boilers
Intergas was founded in the Netherlands in 1939. For about half a century they’ve been making strides in advancing boiler technology.
The brand sought to increase boiler efficiency and lower both emissions and the bills of their customers.
In 1996, Intergas launched the two-in-one heat exchanger which can be found inside each of their boilers to the present day. Among the benefits of two-in-one heat exchangers is that they work to increase energy efficiency.
Intergas was acquired by Rheem in May 2019 and became part of the manufacturer’s Global Water Division. The aim of the division is to meet demands in Europe and other markets around the globe.
The acquisition was done through Paloma Rheem Global, Inc., which is a group entity of the Rheem Manufacturing Company. Intergas’ current UK address is based in Kidderminster.
Intergas Combi Boilers
Now that we’ve looked at the background of Intergas, let’s explore what the brand has to offer in more detail.
Starting with Intergas combi boilers, there are currently seventeen unique models on offer, which make up seven different selections.
These selections generally comprise about 3-4 boiler models.
For example, the Intergas Combi Compact HRE Gas Boilers consist of the HRE 28/24, HRE 36/30kW, and HRE 36/40 Gas Boilers), denoting the power outputs available.
What is a Combi Boiler?
Combi/combination boilers are the most popular boilers in the UK. In fact, as many as seven out of ten UK homes feature a combi boiler.
Combi boilers come as a single compact unit, which is able to provide both hot water and heating.
This means hot water can be supplied directly to taps and radiators without a separate storage tank is necessary.
With modern A-rated combination boilers offering energy efficiency levels above 90%, it’s no major surprise that these boilers are so commonplace.
Intergas Combi Boilers: Price Range
Before considering the total price of having a boiler installed e.g. the cost of supplies, labour, and additional expenses such as the filter and flue, you may want to know how much a standalone boiler may cost.
In the case of Intergas combi boilers, the standalone prices range from about £590 to £1,500. Of course, the pricing varies from model to model, depending on the selection you choose, and the given supplier.
Intergas’ top-selling Combi Compact ECO RF and Xclusive Combi gas boilers are currently the only boilers from the brand with ten-year warranties as standard.
However, they are, perhaps unsurprisingly among the more expensive Intergas boilers. The dearest Intergas selection of all is the Xtreme Combi Gas Boilers.
Also, among Intergas’ combi boiler range are the Rapid and Rapid Plus combi boilers, which include the least expensive boilers from Intergas.
Considering that the cost of extras and labour could add an additional thousand pounds or more to the total instalment cost be aware of this.

Moving on to Intergas system boilers, there are four models available albeit just one selection, specifically the Compact HRE SB System Gas Boilers.
What is a System Boiler?
Homes with a large heating and hot water demand will generally need to have a system boiler installed.
System boilers come with a separate tank for water storage; as a result, these boilers can supply hot water to multiple water outlets without any drop in performance.

Intergas System Boilers Prices and Range
As for Intergas system boilers’ standalone costs, you can expect to pay somewhere between £775 and £1,135.
Again, this excludes other costs that make up the overall installation price such as the controls and labour.
Notably, the HRE SB 40kW System Gas Boiler, the most expensive Intergas system boiler, has an output of 42.5kW.
This figure is one of the highest outputs available with any boiler offered by the brand. In fact, it is equalled only by the Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/40 boiler.

Intergas Regular Boilers
Lastly, let’s look at the regular boilers that Intergas produce. In total, Intergas offers one selection of regular boilers with three distinct models.
What is a Regular Boiler?
Regular boilers are also known as heat-only or traditional boilers. They can produce hot water for central heating, but they can’t be used for domestic purposes like taps, showers, or baths.
Since these boilers require specific pipework, having a regular boiler instalment only makes sense if you’re replacing an existing regular boiler.
To explain more about how regular boilers work, a cold-water tank (located in the loft) is used to provide cold water to the boiler; a hot water storage cylinder is a requirement to allow for hot water use on a day-to-day basis.

Intergas Customer Reviews
There’s plenty of value in considering how customers have reviewed a boiler brand before making a choice.
When it comes to Intergas Heating, they have a rating of 4.5-stars out of five on Trustpilot (from more than 600 reviews, as of March 2022).
To break down the above rating a little more, 86% of reviews came with a five-star ‘excellent’ rating and only 7% of reviewers gave the brand a one- or two-star rating.
Intergas’ 4.5-star rating puts it ahead of Viessmann UK on the list of the best boiler brands on Trustpilot and on par with affordable brand Baxi.
Intergas Verdict
Not only is Intergas a good option for finding affordable boilers but they also provide plenty of attractive, modern designs as well as technology fit for the 2020s.
With that being said, there are other brands that offer similar levels of affordability but are ultimately more popular among professional and customer reviews alike.
For example, Alpha boilers, which ranks second place on the list of our 10 favourite boiler brands. There’s also a larger range of Alpha boilers to choose from and some even come with 13-year warranties.
Of course, there are other big heating brands on the market that are notably more expensive (on average) than the price tags associated with Intergas.
Examples include Worcester Bosch and Vaillant (ranked 4th and 5th, respectively, on our top boiler brands list).
In general, though, we have to say that most of the competition, including arguably Worcester Bosch and Vaillant, are superior and offer better value for money than Intergas, who, ultimately, rank in ninth place when it comes to who we consider the top ten boiler manufacturers.
If you’re on a budget, however, then Intergas is still certainly worth considering. However, in that case, we would probably recommend Alpha boilers as our budget-friendly choice.
