An award winning, lesser known boiler brand, but how do they stack up against the competition? Let's find out.
As a member of the Energy Saving Trust and Heating & Hot Water Council and with many affordable offerings, Ravenheat is a notable brand in the boiler market.
But how do they compare to rival manufacturers?
If you’d like to know more about this British boiler manufacturer, you’ve come to the right place.
In this guide, we’ll explore key areas of the Ravenheat brand, such as their history, and the price range of their boilers and look at how the brand compares with rivals.
Ravenheat sells a variety of combi, regular and system boilers. Not only is the brand prominent here at home in the UK, but their products have seen rising demand throughout Europe.

History of Ravenheat Boilers
Ravenheat was founded in Leeds in 1987. They currently have their head offices, training facilities, and R&D in the same location.
Beyond that, Ravenheat went on to establish production facilities in Verona, Italy. The purpose of this was to provide the brand with complete control over the design and production process of their appliances so as to improve their quality.
Notably, Ravenheat developed its first condensing boilers in the mid-1990s. Around the same time, they joined the Energy Saving Trust.
The nineties also saw Ravenheat join the Institute of Domestic Heating & Environmental Engineers and the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme.
In 2007, Ravenheat became a member of the Heating & Hot Water Industry Council before joining the Gas Safety Register upon its establishment in 2009.
Ravenheat currently produces about 80,000 boiler units a year.
Ravenheat Combi Boilers
Ravenheat has a sizeable range of combi or combination boilers on offer. Combi boilers consist of a single unit that provides both hot water and heating water.
Once you turn a tap on, a combi boiler heats water straight from the mains, meaning that neither a hot water storage cylinder nor a cold water storage tank in the loft is required.
Modern A-rated combi boilers feature energy efficiency levels in excess of 90%, which is a substantial improvement on the old non-condensing, inferior designs of yesteryear.
For the models listed below, a specific selection of boiler models may comprise two or more specific models although in many cases we will list single product selections.
You should be aware that a higher boiler output does not always equal a higher price tag.
Ravenheat’s combi boilers are suited to homes with a small to medium demand for hot water and central heating.
The various 24kW to 27kW units provided in this category is a good choice for properties with one bathroom and as many as ten radiators.
As with any boiler type, it’s important to cautiously consider the output and other factors before selecting the right boiler for your home.

Ravenheat Combi Boiler Prices
When it comes to the pricing of boilers, the total installation cost includes expenses like labour and other extras. However, you may wish to know the standalone costs of the boiler prior to all the extra costs.
Ravenheat offers ten combi boiler models in total. Only one of the ranges listed in the following section consists of more than one boiler (the CSI 120 boilers).
The supply cost of Ravenheat combi boilers starts at about £525, which is the estimated price of two of their best-selling combi boiler models - the WH80 Combi Gas Boiler and the WH90 30kW Combi Gas Boiler. The estimated supply price of the brand’s combi boilers reaches £1,444 with the HE 42 model.
The total cost of installation may see a cost rise of up to £1,300 or more over the standalone cost of the boiler.
For that reason, if you’re given a quote for a Ravenheat combi boiler installation (with all expenses considered such as labour) for less than £1,000, it’s probably not legitimate.
Heatable can provide you with a fixed price for a Gas safe combi boiler instalment. You can even book the boiler installation and have it installed in just 24 hours. Get a quote today using our website.

Ravenheat Regular Boilers
There is only one Ravenheat regular (or heat only) boiler currently being offered from the brand.
Notably, you should only contemplate buying Ravenheat’s regular boiler if you’re seeking a like-for-like replacement of an existing regular boiler.
Specific pipework is needed for regular boilers, so you won’t want to waste time and money on having a new regular boiler installed if you don’t have the correct pipework in place to start with.
Regular boilers can also be referred to as conventional or traditional boilers. While these boilers can heat water for central heating purposes, the water cannot be used domestically, such as for taps and showers.
Coldwater is fed to a regular boiler through a water storage tank located in the loft.
These boilers also use a hot water storage cylinder so that hot water can be made available for use throughout the day.

Again, there is only one Ravenheat regular boiler available currently.
Specifically, that model is the £645 CSI Primary AAA Regular Gas Boiler, which is one of three boilers in the CSI range (the other two are combi boilers).

Ravenheat System Boilers
The brand also sells five system boilers. These boilers are ideal for larger properties with a greater demand for hot water and heating.
Thanks to its separate tank (for water storage), a system boiler can supply hot water for a property with multiple bathrooms being used simultaneously with no issues.
Ravenheat system boilers are suitable for properties with one to two bathrooms. These boilers are incredibly efficient and most come with a five-year warranty.
Ravenheat System Boiler Prices
Looking at the standalone prices of Ravenheat’s five system boilers, the lowest estimated cost is attributed to the brand’s WH System 4-24 26kW Gas Boiler with a price tag of £579.
While the highest estimated price for a Ravenheat system boiler is that of the HE98S System Gas Boiler which costs about £800.
However, two of Ravenheat’s system boilers do not have a confirmed supply cost, as you’ll see in the following section. The two WH System boilers are the best-selling Ravenheat system boilers on offer.

Ravenheat Customer Reviews
Now for some bad news. While Ravenheat offers boilers that suit those on a tight budget, the brand has a mere two-star rating on TrustPilot.
The only caveat worth noting is that only 18 customers have left reviews, as of March 2022 and while 61% of reviews came with a one-star rating more than a quarter of customers gave it an ‘excellent’ five-star rating. That said, a rating of two out of five is pretty awful.
Check our new boiler costs guide and use our boiler size calculator if you want to get a better understanding of how our fixed price boiler quote tool works.
Ravenheat Awards & Accolades
While some boiler brands are widely decorated, Ravenheat does not have many awards and accolades to its name.
That said, some of their technologies and appliances such as the brand’s flue heat recovery system and the CSI 85 (now discontinued) have won awards.
The CSI 85, for example, was recognized for its innovative design enabling it to save energy as well as its ability to reduce harmful greenhouse gases.
Ravenheat Boilers Verdict
The customer reviews section does not paint a good picture of Ravenheat but again, with just 18 reviews, these should be taken with a grain of salt.
The fact that more than a third of Ravenheat’s boilers have a five-year warranty with all the best-selling options having a five- or ten-year warranty are points worth considering.
But what about the competition? Well, one notable rival of Ravenheat is Potterton, also known for selling affordable boilers.
Both brands offer highly efficient boilers, but it is Ravenheat’s HE80 that tops the lot with a 95% seasonal space heating efficiency.
However, Potterton has a wider range with fifty-five boilers on offer, compared to Ravenheat’s sixteen.
Beyond that, we’ve also ranked Potterton boilers as our eighth favourites in our top ten boiler brands guide, while Ravenheat does not make the cut.
Potterton is also backed by leading boiler producer, Baxi meaning that their boilers feature performance-enhancing innovative technology.
All things considered, rival models such as Potterton, Glow-worm or Baxi boilers are generally worth selecting over Ravenheat boilers.
If you’re willing to spend a bit more for higher quality, consider a boiler from Viessmann, currently ranked number one on our list, or from Worcester Bosch, currently positioned in fourth.
