Considering a Zanussi boiler? See how they compare against the competition in our Zanussi review.
Zanussi is a major Italian manufacturer of domestic appliances, including domestic boilers.
While they don’t have an especially large boiler range, the brand’s reputation certainly makes these appliances worth a closer look.
The Italian brand currently has six boilers on offer, two of which are combi boilers whereas the others are system boilers.
While the brand does not generally offer great warranties, all of their boilers have at least 91% energy efficiency (most have 93% efficiency).

History of Zanussi
Zanussi was founded in 1916. The company was set up by Antonio Zanussi and began as just a small workshop. In 1920, the brand launched its first standard wood-burning stove.
In the mid-forties, upon Zanussi’s passing, his sons Guido and Lino took over the business. The brand would move into the modern industrial sector in the 1950s with 300 employees at the time.
Over the decades, Zanussi would expand their product lines to include dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, and, of course, boilers.
During the early ‘90s, Electrolux combined all its UK brands into a single service entity. However, the entity was still split based on regions between local Electrolux service centres and Zanussi service agents.
Zanussi Combi Boilers
As we touched on, Zanussi only provides two combi boilers currently.
These two boilers are part of Zanussi’s Ultra Combi Gas Boilers selection. These boilers have efficiency levels of no less than 91%.
What is a Combi Boiler?
Combination boilers ‘combine’ a central heating boiler and water heater in a single compact unit.
A-rated combi boilers in this day in age offer energy efficiency levels in excess of 90%.
Not only that but you don’t need a separate storage tank for your taps and radiators to receive a hot water supply. All in all, it’s easy to see why 70% of UK homeowners choose combi boilers.

Zanussi Combi Boilers: Price Range
The total price of having a boiler installed includes the cost of labour, supplies, filter, flue, and potentially other expenses.
Many customers, though, want to know the supply costs (i.e., standalone cost) for a variety of boilers. However, in the case of Zanussi combi boilers, the supply costs of these boilers are unfortunately not available.
In general, combi boilers in the UK tend to come with a supply cost of between £600 and £2,000. The price depends on the brand, the quality and other factors.
The total installed cost of a Zanussi combi boiler would include an extra £800 to £1,300 atop the standalone cost.
For this reason, if anyone offers to fit a Zanussi combi boiler for less than £1,000 (all costs including labour and supplies), you’ve likely received a dodgy offer.
Heatable can provide you with a fixed price for a Gas safe combi boiler fitting today. Not only that you may even have it installed in only twenty-four hours. You can secure a quote on our website today in about sixty seconds.
Zanussi’s combi boilers are praised for their reliability, ease of installation, ErP compliance, low lift weight and high energy efficiency.

Ultra Combi 30kW Gas Boiler | 24.2 | 2 years | N/A | N/A |
Ultra Combi 35kW Gas Boiler | 24.2 | 2 years | N/A | N/A |
Zanussi System Boilers
If you’re searching for a system boiler, thankfully Zanussi has more on offer than with their combi boiler range.
Zanussi’s four system boilers also have energy efficiency levels of 92-93% and their 30kW system boiler has the option of up to a ten-year warranty.
This warranty is a standout option among Zanussi’s boiler range.
What is a System Boiler?
A system boiler comes with a separate water storage tank, unlike combi boilers.
As a result, system boilers can supply a home with hot water on a continual basis. System boilers are well-suited to properties with a big demand for heating and hot water.

Zanussi System Boilers: Price Range
Once more, the standalone costs of Zanussi system boilers are not available. On average, though, system boilers on the UK market tend to cost between £600 and £2,500.
However, we estimate that for other costs such as labour, the flue and filter, you’d pay about £800 to £1,300 to have a Zanussi system boiler installed.
Among the key advantages of the brand’s system boilers are their compact size (suitable for a cupboard fit), built-in condensate trap, reliability, concealed pipe network and their ability to meet the high demand for hot water.
Again, you can get a fixed cost of installation for a new system boiler through our online calculator today.

Zanussi Customer Reviews
When considering a boiler brand, it’s worth considering how existing customers have rated their experience with said brand.
Of course, since Zanussi provides a wide range of home products, many online ratings of Zanussi are not specific to their boilers. So, it’s important to keep this in mind.
However, looking at Trustpilot, from 551 reviews, Zanussi has a very poor 1.3-star rating. This is exceptionally bad as far as providers of home appliances go.
But what about on other sites? Does it fare better elsewhere? Well, here’s the thing, the answer is a definitive yes.
On Review Meta, out of some 1,100 reviews, Zanussi has a 4-1-star rating! Many of the brand’s appliances also feature four-star ratings or thereabouts on a range of different sites (albeit without too many customers behind these ratings).
Overall, Zanussi has mixed reviews at best and the sample sizes are not great. There simply aren’t enough reviews available to make a conclusive decision about the brand based solely on customer feedback.
Zanussi Boiler Fault Codes
While most modern boilers last around ten to fifteen years before they need to be replaced and can go quite some time without any issues occurring, faults and errors are inevitable.
For that reason, it’s good to have a grasp of the fault codes that come with a boiler brand's products by understanding what they mean and how the related issue might be fixed.
Some boiler errors can be fixed DIY while others should (or even legally have to) be dealt with by a qualified professional. If in any doubt, hire a professional.
Here are some common Zanussi error codes and the associated issues:
Error Code | Issue at Hand |
C0 | Activation fault with the boiler chip card/BCC |
F1 | Water pressure is low |
F2 | Flame loss |
F6 | The outside sensor has failed |
F7 | Low mains voltage |
L1 | Lack of water flow or flow temperature is overheating |
L6 | False flame lockout |
Zanussi Verdict
With mixed customer reviews and a lack of large samples, Zanussi, it must be said, is far from the best option on the market. The limited pricing information available on Zanussi products is another drawback.
If you’re looking for another boiler brand option, check out our 10 favourite boiler brands. For an affordable option, consider companies like Baxi and Glow-worm, which have 4.5-star and 4.6-star ratings on Trustpilot.
For the best on the market consider purchasing a boiler from Viessmann (number one on our list) or perhaps Alpha Boilers, Ideal or Worcester Bosch, brands that we’ve also ranked in the top five for our favourite boiler brands in the UK.
The Zanussi range is also fairly limited which is another concern with choosing the boilers offered by the brand.
We’re not saying that there’s no reason to consider a Zanussi boiler but whether you’re looking for something affordable or high-end, there are certainly better options on the market. And options that we have more confidence in for that matter.
We have also reviewed and compared many other popular UK boiler brands, including the following:
