[2024 update] - it’s more like 12 years now, but honestly - we’ve lost count.
Worcester Bosch Combi’s
First, whom or what is a combi boiler?
Combination (or combi boilers) are by far the most common type of boiler in the UK, installed and used in as many as 70% of homes. Modern A rated combi boilers offer over 90% efficiency and provide both on-demand hot water, and heating in one compact unit.
They are ideal for properties with limited space since they can easily be installed in tight spots and their high efficiency helps you maximise energy use.
Unless you live in a house with unlimited space that could use a combi boiler in the middle of the kitchen, those are some pluses.
Worcester Bosch also offers fantastic customer service all backed up by lengthy guarantees. Yep, guarantees, not warranties.

Worcester Bosch Regular’s
Woah, Woah, Woah. What's a regular boiler?
Worcester Bosch also has a comprehensive range of regular or conventional boilers, like combi boilers they can provide homes with both hot water on demand and heating.
However, instead of a single unit, they consist of a boiler, a hot water storage cylinder and water tanks that are installed in the loft which take up valuable space.
Regular boilers are typically more suitable for larger properties (suits you, sir) with multiple water outlets e.g. multiple bathrooms since they can keep up with the additional demand. This way, you and your servants can shower simultaneously.
Prices for a standalone Worcester Bosch regular boiler range from £700 to £2000.
Again, it's important to note that's the price for the boiler alone. It doesn’t even include the water in the tank.

Worcester Bosch System’s
System boilers or “sealed system” boilers provide both hot water and heating and like regular boilers perform well at providing adequate flow rate to multiple outlets simultaneously.
The hot water they generate is stored in a large storage cylinder, which typically requires more space than a combi.
Note, with system boilers, there's no need for additional cold water storage tanks in your loft. This means there's more room to hoard your wig collection or old board games such as Scrabble, which is always a bonus.
The major downside of a system boiler is that if all the water stored in the cylinder is used, there'll be a waiting game for more - and that's one boring game. It's certainly not Scrabble - you can play Scrabble while you wait, which is slightly better.
Prices for a standalone Worcester Bosch system boiler range from between £800 to £3500 and are available in multiple different sizes. Again, this is for the boiler alone. Not flue, no controls, no labour, nada. It essentially gives you a giant system on your doorstep you can’t even install yourself.

Why should I buy a Worcester Bosch boiler? Give me one good reason.
Worcester Bosch is the most well-known condensing boiler brand in the UK, a highly respected name amongst homeowners and engineers alike.
But, why? Why are they known for all the right reasons?
#1 They're award-winning boilers: Voted Which? Best Buy for 10 consecutive years
As one of the most credible and respected consumer awards - it's an award, unlike others, that you simply can't buy.
This isn’t your uncle winning that ‘reward’ at a fluffed-up marketing conference, but a hard-earned recognition.
The brand won the “best buy” award based on feedback from actual real humans (not pretend ones). They also gathered feedback from over 100 installers.
Moreover, the brand's boilers received several high 5-star ratings the consumer choice organisation considers most important to consumers, including full marks for their build quality and availability of parts and spares.

#2 CORGI’s domestic heating product of the year
The Worcester Bosch Greenstar Range is their pride and joy. It's their firstborn and if they were to have an only child, the Greenstar would be it. That makes all the other boilers immediately feel like the middle child.
When it comes to efficiency, these A-rated boilers are one of the most efficient central heating boilers available, helping you to save energy and money on your heating bills. And for many people, saving money is their favourite pastime.
It is for these reasons, that the Greenstar Range has been awarded CORGI’s domestic heating product of the year for several years in a row.
#3 Availability of parts
As the Which? Best Buy Award has already been established, Worcester Bosch has a superb reputation when it comes to the availability of parts, which is extremely important if you do need to repair your boiler quickly. Apparently, most people will tolerate cold showers for a remarkably short time.
This could mean one of two things - their boilers break down often, or, they've been around so long that everywhere stocks them. We're pretty confident that it's the latter. Hopefully.
#4 Market-leading aftercare
Worcester Bosch’s aftercare has also earned itself a reputation for being among the best in the industry.
Again, although already mentioned in the Which? Best Buy Award, we think it is important to highlight this since amazing aftercare can turn a bad boiler day around and prevent a small inconvenience from turning into something much worse.
#5 The Worcester Bosch warranty
Unlike many other competing boiler brands, Worcester Bosch does not just offer a warranty but instead a guarantee.
But, why? What is the reason for this snazzy wording?
A guarantee is an agreement from the brand that they will attend to your property and repair or replace the boiler within a reasonable timeframe.
Most other brands just offer a warranty as standard, this is an agreement to investigate the problem but is not an unconditional agreement to fix or repair it for free. This means technicians with Worcester Bosch aren’t just there to look at your problem but fix it.
Heatable offer an exclusive 10-year guarantee on all Worcester Bosch Greenstar gas boilers we install.
#6 Worcester Bosch Customer Reviews
Sure, a trusted, third-party organisation like Which? is credible, but nothing quite compares to the honesty and feedback of genuine buyers and everyday users of the product.
When was the last time you wrote a positive review about a company? Never, I bet. They're hard to get. They're harder to get than the girl you fancied when you were thirteen and awkward.
Thankfully, Worcester Bosch has some of the best customer reviews of any other boiler brand in the industry.
Side note, if you fancy a laugh, go read some of British Gas reviews.
On Trustpilot, Worcester Bosch has racked up an incredible amount of reviews. As of August 2020, over 17,000 customers left a review. Mind-bending.
The brand has an average rating of 4.7 stars out of 5, incredible for a company selling in such huge volumes.
Worcester Bosch Error Codes
No matter how reliable or award-winning a boiler brand is, none of them is completely perfect and from time to time, boilers will experience issues and require repairs.
Gremlins can reside in award-winning products too, you know. In fact, they prefer it, since they’re rather picky.
For that reason, it’s vital that you have your Worcester Bosch boiler serviced annually, not only will this ensure everything is in working order, but it is also advised to ensure your boiler is safe and without one, your guarantee is likely to be null and void.
It quite literally won't be worth the paper it's written on. (unless Banksy drew something on the back).
In the event that your boiler is experiencing a fault, typically an error code will be displayed on the boiler's interface.
Although not entirely reliable, the codes are displayed to help gas engineers identify the root cause of the problem, so they can be prepared and consult the boilers technical user manual for further assistance.
These error codes also help you identify the root cause, but there’s less you can do about it.
Common error codes for not-so-common errors
Not all fault codes are equal, some indicate worse problems that require professional assistance from an engineer, while others can indicate a minor issue that can be remedied quite quickly by yourself.
For example, if your boiler is losing pressure, you can top that up yourself. It’s only slightly more difficult than filling up a cup of tea.
But, if your boiler reeks of gas, you'll need an expert.
Here are some common codes...
Worcester Bosch FaultLikely Error Code | |
Pressure too low/high | A1, CE 207, H07, 224V, 1017W, 2970B |
Pilot light issue (not lighting) | EA, F7, FA, EA227, F7 228, FA306 |
Heat Exchanger error | 2963 B, 2964 B, 2966 B, 2967 B |
Fan Fault | C6, T2, C6 215, C7 214, C1 264 |
